Apply a healing salve or medication as needed.
Make seven knots in black thread, while murmuring this incantation (mumbled and barely intelligible).
Tie the thread around the leg while chanting

Baldur rade
The foal slade
He lighted and he righted
Set joint to joint, bone to bone, sinew to sinew.
Heal in Odin's name.

Alternative version

Then charmed woden
As well he knew how
For bone sprain
For blood sprain
Bone to bone
Blood to blood
Sinew to sinew
As though they were glued.

Another alternate version

Blood to blood
And bone to bone
This is the spell
That I intone
Sinew to sinew
And vein to vein
And each one shall
Be whole again.

The first is the oldest and a literal translation from ancient scandinavian texts

The second is a 10th century rendition

And the last is modern.

Odin is over dogs/wolves. This incantation can be used on human or animal, but for animals, I would say only horses, canines (dogs/wolves/etc), and birds, because these are Odin's favorites. May the great one-eyed god bless your dog and give him a healthy long life.

With all healing spells, it is important to take a long time on them, and put a lot of energy into them. I find that healing spells need a lot of heart, so put your emotions into it. You may repeat this as often as necessary (once a day) until the dog begins to show signs of improvement.
