Blind leading the Blind.
By:
I don't pretend to be an expert in the art of Magick. But, as with many others here, a few decades of personal practical experience and endless studies may serve to qualify me to teach a few things.

I'm alarmed and disgusted by the new & nearly new magick users (if, indeed they are) answering questions and providing information to other new people as though it's authoritative.

Please, if you only read it in a book, saw it in a show, heard about it somewhere, but have not sufficiently experienced it yourself....SHUT UP!

Have a nice day. =)

c'est la vie! It happens, and it will continue to. I understand why you are frustrated, but that's why we have profiles, so that people who ask questions can see who they're getting their answers from. Most of the time, it only takes a little common sense to see who knows what they're talking about and who just learned something and is excited to share. Sometimes they're right, sometimes not. But when it comes to spiritual matters no one can say they are correct 100% of the time. That's why we are on a discussion board, to get many points of view.

I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it. This "common sense" is lacking and serves to further the problem.

And, I've noticed you are prolific in answering forum posts, sometimes in agreement, sometimes poking holes, but I've NEVER seen you in chat offering to help the newbs.

It works both ways, dearie.

I've never been on the Chat either! I don't know how to do it! I am not new to witchcraft; but I am very new to a computer!

I understand your position, Brysing. But, at least you don't always have to say something contrary in your postings. ;)

I only come to the forums on my phone. I can't use the chat on an android. And I don't have time to sit there at my computer. And I cannot use my computer at work for forums. I'm not even home right now. I type fast on my little G2. =)

So as you can see, the chat isn't an option for me.

I'm a married, working mother of a five year old daughter. I work evenings/nights and take care of my daughter in the day. I answer my pms and help people when I find the time. I never said that I commit myself to this forum. I do what I can when it is convenient for me. And my computer would gather dust if my husband didn't use it!

Contrary? I don't understand what you mean. I'm merely saying that despite this topic, there is nothing that anyone can do to stop people from posting in a public forum. You cannot ask a question without receiving both good and bad advice when directed toward a crowd.

And I speak my mind. I can agree to a post or disagree, can I not? I am a bold person, online and in person. And if you don't believe me, I really don't care. I don't understand why you are questioning me. I go down the "new" section only and check it anytime I have a bit of time, such as a cigarette break (yes I know they're bad for me, I plan to quit soon).

I enjoy forums, and if you read my profile you would see, I am a questioner and an observer. And I like to make people have to think. I feel there is too many who just read and absorb or have a narrow view, and that isn't good! People should question and make their minds work to its potential. I despise when I post and the thread dies. More should be speaking their minds and if they disagree with me, so be it! I don't profess to know everything. And I'm not against a friendly debate. That's how we find the truth in things.

All of us have something to learn from each other, if only we take the time. Even the young ones here who do not know it all, they have a mind, and they have right to speak it. Right or wrong, they shouldn't be discouraged. I learn from my daughter every day, she teaches me to enjoy the little things and how to look at the world through a child's eyes again. It's inspirational. She guesses quite a lot, but through guessing she is learning how to find answers on her own. I attended a Jesuit college, and do you know what they do? They ask you questions before they teach you the answers! Why? To teach you to think! Most of the time, the answers are already there, its just learning to tap into them. Discovering your own ability to answer questions without ever being taught them is a powerful tool. So I would never discourage anyone from attempting at a question, right or wrong. It doesn't stop someone else from answering it properly from an experienced perspective.

I'm new but I have 2 friends that deal with similar things. One knows quite a bit about spirits and hauntings and what not and the other learns about energy and tells me about it and we are all teaching eachother.

So I tell people what I know if it will help them and what I think might work.

Okay, WhiteRaven. Let's just agree to disagree, and please don't respond to anymore of my posts. You lost whatever respect I may have had for you when you supported the idea of quantity over quality to make the site popular.

White Rav3n Is one of the most respected witches on this site, and probably one of the best sources of information SOM has.

Also experience is a big part of anything, but yet magick gives me headaches, so no i have not experienced spells but i give information and advice on the subject sometimes.
