Guardian Angel is just a term. Having him tell you to "Watch Out" as well as seeming concerned does point to a warning rather than a threat.
Some spirits will just inform or pass along information without the need or desire to stay around. Hard to say what it exactly is without experiencing it. The fire might have been part of what it was warning you about even.
Too much is in the dark, just follow your instincts and trust yourself. Getting spooked and letting that control you only places you in a weaker position. If you have a damn good reason to be scared there is often little you can do about it.
Well if it was concerned, that's different. The other posts are right if that was the case. You left that important detail out. You may want to thank him then!
Hmm, how long have you been in the house? and have you felt any presence other then the ringing of a phone? first i would get a tigers eye stone, second get a pendant, 3rd ask the spirit of the place if you can cleanse the house.
the pendant should give a yes or no answer if asked a question.

I had an almost similar thing happen, I was in my room meditating, and after about an hour or so my mind slipped and i always go to this dark room like a cavern but with one door except it felt strange and suddenly this little girls unknown voice repeating this over and over again, "hey are you okay? are you okay?"and i couldnt wake up no matter how hard i tried but i concentrated and pulled myself out of it but the odd part was i woke up lying down with my light off, i was sitting up with my light on, and time didnt move foward more than one minute, i was so scared I could die. not literally.
Actually guarding angels are that "fluff" from the bible
and if it was, though it was trying to warn you its mere presence may have been enough to make you afraid. I mean, every time a bible ever appeared in the bible (and in most of the angel encounter outside of the bible) the first thing out of their mouths was "Be not afraid" Because whenever someone saw them they were just about ready to s**t their pants
