A spell is fake if it lets you do something like morph into a half-dragon or make you live forever or other impossible things. Also, a lot of spells are made by people to pass the time or to trick the gullible because maybe the ingredients or thing you do contradict the spells outcome. But yes, some spells are deemed 'fake' because of lack of belief.
You don't need ingredients for spells, not the reagent physical kind. The key ingredients one does require are faith in ones self, total self knowledge and self mastery, focus, concentration, mental discipline, concentration, will, and the ability to visualize the desired outcome. That is all you need. Herbs, stones, precious metals, totally unnecessary, and in point of fact such props are more a hindrance than a boon, as they all to often force ones focus "off" of those things that are most important. Think deeply on this. All too often people get into the practice of magick as a distraction to take their mind off of their own personal, professional, life problems, and all the minute details that people embrace in regards to magick are a valued part of that distraction for many. As I said, think deeply.
most of the spells are fake. you cant just make up spells and assume they will work. spells are usually found in books from cults. if it says all you have to do is think about it and it will happen, its a lie. a spell usually is a longer process and takes preparation. were not in harry potter, this is the dark arts. and its not a game.
