3rd eye development

Hello. As you may know i have been trying to open my third eye for some time. Well the other day i went to a witchcraft store in pa and they recommended i buy a lapiz stone. So I bought it, placed it over my forehead and meditated. After a short time i felt a pulling feeling and a feeling of imense energy going through my head. I started to get all kinds of flashes of weird pictures in my mind. The next day i did some meditating with the stone and still get the energy feeling but i dont get and kind of psychic sense(aura seeing, spirits, voices, clauvoience. Im wondering have i already opened and activated the chakra? Does it take time after opening to develop psychic powers?
