Yes, I think this is true to an extent. If you look at the back stories of each religion they are all very similar. They all usually have some prophet or martyr and religious rituals. If only we could focus more on our similarities than our differences maybe the world would be a better place.
I went to a private Christian school and started doubting the religion once I started learning about other religions. They all seemed so similar and I started getting confused. I started developing my own beliefs and eventually learned that they are pretty close to Paganism.
