I'm very short (4'9") and I generally dislike it because I feel below average. I'd like to be an actress, but I would be type-cast. But, I have come to just accept that I'm short and I do things that suit me. Short people can still be tough, sexy, whatever. As you get older and see more of the world you will realize there are plenty of people uglier, dumber, shorter, fatter, skinnier, smarter, crazier than you and that yu don't have it so bad. I'm in college right now and my height, though I am seen as short, is nothing to bat an eye at. There are people of equal and lesser height.
Practice being a nicer person. If you give them something better to notice they won't care that you're short.
There are also surgery options, but the last time I heard about them (one in particular where they break your legs) you usually have a 50/50 percent chance of walking again. Or talk to your doctor about hormone pills. You can also look into biokinesis, but it's still in a very hazy 'does it work for big things?' stage.
