When you meditate you have to try not think and clear your mind right but all the books I read say this can be hard but when i meditate (only started) I can sort of tap out of my brain and just think of nothing its wierd its like I have no brain and then i can start thinking again when im finished. Can someone please tell me why this happpens

that is normal,i have it too,consider it a skill,that skill can help you at mental abilities and concentration and few other things

This is very normal i have meditated majority of my life , meditation is mostly meant for relaxation and concentration what you are talking about is called a meditative state , it should happen every time you meditate it allows for complete concentration and free movability of your chi ( natural enery ) and here is a pointer well meditating you should always have your tongue curled to the roof of your mouth allowinfg for your two power chanels to connect

That is very normal, But, at times if you are in great danger, dont tap out of your brain, It will only cause trouble if in battle, While doing it the enemy could quickly kill you with out you even knowing it....
