that is a really beautiful and unusual piece you have there.
I see what looks like a turquoise color predominantly but then that striking part that as you described is royal blue.
the colors are set in what looks like milky white quartz.
honestly, if a piece like that called out to me, my first impression would be that a new mystery just kind of happened to me. am I right that there are three different kinds of stone in that piece?
if so I would think about combinations of three perhaps.
anyway, what a beautiful piece. Congrats on it finding you!
I'm going to say that is fluorite. It is commonly clear in many areas of it, it is generally banded and can be literally a rainbow of colors. It's a solid stone with many wonderful healing attributes.
Thank you for your help. Ya it is a mystery of how it just appeared out of nowhere and chose me. Is it also possible for the stone to not like certain people as well? I showed my girlfriend the stone and as I did I got a painful throbbing in my head until I took it away from her. She said the stone looked black to her. I've never heard of stones not liking people but is it a possibility since I do know that stones may form a bond between people also? Thank you once again for all the input and help.
In my belief, in a general way called "animism" everything has a spirit. Crystals and gemstones tend to amplify certain energy and the quality is very attractive to both spirits of the crystal or stone and / or spirits that uses it as a vessel. Everything gives and takes in this world, that is nature. It is important to understand this when gaining a bond with a spirit within a crystal or stone. Many take in and give out energy continuously. Some of the best ones like citrine take in energy that is unpleasant or unhealthy for us and give out what we like. So this symbiotic relationship is formed.
You were attracted to the stone because the spirit in the stone and you are symbiotic. You need what it has and you have what it needs. It's good to identify the stones that attract you because you will better understand yourself and what you lack. Eventually, it will heal you and you will no longer feel a need for it. I can't tell you how many stones I've had that I have given to people that become suddenly and intensely attracted to it or that I feel it wants to be with. Learning to understand the spirits is a wonderful gift and if you continue to hear them, it will serve you very well.
One of my favorite quotes is
"Everyone is a genius. If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid"
~Albert Einstein
You've found your affinity. Use it. As my mother told me "whisper to the stone and listen for it to speak back, but don't listen with your ears, listen with your heart." Read and learn but never let that limit you. Every gemstone has that huge long list of what it can "do" but in my own experience, I have found that just like anything in this world, each one is individual and has it's own talents. All of us can draw for instance, but few are artists. All of us can bounce a ball but not all of us are athletes. I have many clear quartz crystals for instance, and every single one is best (and enjoys) one specific task and it does it better than any other.
