Help about sources

Hey, so uhm... I need help finding some good sources for the Craft. I don't exactly trust SoM with the amount of fake spells and misinformation on here.

There are multiple good sources here, you just have to look. The search bar in the top right and the history tab on experienced members' profiles are your best friends.

Generally, if you want to search about something here articles are good as most of them seem to be not fluff.

Also about the history tab. You can access it by going to someone's profile and near the top right there's the tab that says history. If you click that and scroll all the way down you'll find a section for articles and spells that the member contributed to.
That way you can find articles from specific people you trust.

An example would be Nekoshema's article on Dragon Magick. She has a good reputation on this site and is one of the editors so she can be trusted. Any of the other moderators are also trustworthy and you can find sources they have created there.

There are also multiple youtube channels and podcasts you could listen to. A popular youtube channel for witches is Hearthwitch. She has many videos on the craft.

And two good podcasts I listen to are "Witch yes," and "the witch bitch amateur hour," They're both run by people still learning about their craft but they do thorough research before making an episode as they don't want to spread misinformation.

Hopefully this helps ^^

Also if you wanna use spells I recommend making your own spells. There's a good article on how to do it on this site that pops up occasionally but I forgot the name of it. However, I usually just make them up on the spot with whatever feels right.

When making a spell keep in mind the purpose of the spell, as intention is one of the most important things in making spells (example, I want to banish negative energy). Then think of what could help you focus on that intention and stuff you believe will make it work better (example, salt is good for protecting against negativity so I'll use that). Once you have those two things ready, you can cast your spell by focusing on your intention and releasing it into action. I tend to do this by imagining the energy moving to where I want it to and then I imagine the result I want happening. (Other people may use chants, or say that the spell is working. Just use whatever feels the best for you)

When you say you want information about the "Craft" what exactly are you looking for? Are you interested in magic and spell work or in a particular form of magical practice? Are you interested in Traditional Witchcraft, Wicca, Ceremonial magic, etc? Being a bit more specific would be helpful in assuring we are steering you in the right direction to fit your interests.

I mainly want some correspondence tables that aren't dead links(about half of the ones you posted are dead links), herbal resources, crystals, and some "grey" magic, like Misanthropy's "heal and hex as I see fit" philosophy

For my path, it's very hit-or-miss for whether it's fluff, misinformation, or a halfway decent spell.

You're right. I had posted those links several years ago and many were outdated. I've redone the post about correspondences with new links and some book suggestions. You can find it at https://www.spellsofmagic.com/read_post.html?post=966972

Also, a really great book on spellwork is "Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar. You can find an inexpensive copy at https://www.thriftbooks.com/w/spells-and-how-they-work_stewart-farrar_janet-farrar/447941/#edition=726167&idiq=669195

An excellent book. You can also find it here if you'd rather have it in digital form
https://www.amazon.com/Spells-How-They-Work-Paranormal-ebook/dp/B008J2ANLW/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=

As for dead links, you might find archived versions on the Wayback Machine at web.archive.org if you really want to read those pages.
