This is a simple technique to focus or as a mental preparation and exercise.
Go into a dark room, with nothing easily flammable inside, and light a candle in it's holder. It has to be a tall candle, with the wick exposed.
After lighting the candle, sit in front of it, in the lotus position. Shut your eyes, and try to become the candle. Remember to sit up straight in the lotus position. Hold this position without moving, except to breathe. Sit there quietly for at least 3 minutes, and relax.
When you are finished, blow out the candle for another warmup.
