Hello! Currently I'm on a trip exploring the South West Coast of the United States. Since I'm staying primarily outside in groves, I hoped to share some of my knowledge about Druidic tree healing and worship as I travel. Right now, I'm sitting in a beautiful grove of Oak Trees, one of the seven "noble" trees due to it's acorns, usefulness in tanning hides, and value in woodwork, especially boats. In postglacial Indo-European cultures, the fine for tampering with an oak tree was roughly two and a half cows. Oak acorns are known to be able to fatten one pig; since a pig feast was one of the greatest things ever at that time, people noted this association. Oak is good for external wounds, as well as diarrhea and *rectal tumors* (luckily the man I'm with did not require this treatment :P ). Oak trees were very sacred to Indo-Europeans, and sacred to many Gods and Goddesses including Jupiter, Thor, Brigid, and Rhea. Oak fires were often used to honor high gods of thunder. According to the Greeks, the will of Zeus could be heard in the rustling of leaves in groves such as Dordona. It is said that spirits with the ability to open doors to the underworld live in oaks. A word meaning "oak" developed into the word "true." The divinitory meaning of oak involves strength and grounding, as an oak's roots dig deep deep down into the soul. Thanks for reading!!
