Working with a patron god or godess can help make magick more powerful and many people have a positive experience in having a close relationship with a diety. Before you decide which god or godess to connect with, do some research around different kinds of mythology. Study Greek, Roman, Norse, Egyptian, Celtic, Slavic, and Mesopatamian mythology and religion. If there is an art or craft you are fond of, or a certain aspect of life, or of nature tht you like, look for the god of it. If you are artsy or knowlegable, research Athena, If you love to watch lightning flash and hear thunder roar, look into Zeus, Thor, or Jupiter. If you are intrigued by the moon, research Hecate, Luna, or Selene. Nature as a whole? Try Pan. Do you love swiming? Are you romantic? Look into Posidon, Neptune, Aphrodite or Venus. Keep searching until you find a Diety that you connect with and then start praying to them regularly. Make offerings to show them how faithful you are, build them a shrine, altar or even a temple. Start using spells that invoke them. Let that god or godess be a part of your life, be part of theirs.
