Basil

Basil is an herb commonly used in the culinary field. However, it also has medicinal and magickal properties as well. It is a member of the Mint family.

MEDICINAL

Basil is well known for it's anti-gas and digestive properties. It is recommended for headaches, nausea, vomiting, cramps, constipation, and anxiety. A cup of Basil tea after dinner will help aid digestion. Basil can also have a slight sedative effect, if taken after a long or stressful day. Basil is also known to be an expectorant, and an anti-inflammitory.

MAGICKAL

Basil is a great herb for love, protection, and wealth. It can be used for courage as well. Basil can be used in love satchels or incenses, placed in cash registers or on the top of doorways to attract customers to a business. Basil can be used in mojo bags for money and/or love. If using it for protection, one can burn an incense created from basil while casting a spell, or create a powder from it (and other protective herbs) and scatter it around a space, or place it in a satchel.
