Have your familiar summoned and close to you. Have it and you cut your hands/paws/other and drip a drop of blood onto the charm. after this you must say.
"By the blood on this charm I ask to bond us for life. If one lives the other shall not die. If one is harmed the other shall as well."
Ask the familiar "Do you accept?". And if it says no then do the spell over if it says yes then you will put the charm in the safest place you can think.
Do not do this. Don't cut your hand and definitely don't cut your pet's paw. Historically, familiars were spiritual creatures that took the form of animals to do the witch's evil bidding. Today, people tend to call their pets their ''familiar'' without fully understanding what they are or how they work. You can have a spiritual bond with your pet, and some animals can sense magick, but you need to observe the pet. You can't just go ''my dog/cat/bird is my familiar'' and not bother spending time understanding their behaviour, temperament, and character. You can create a ritual around the idea of connecting with your familiar and strengthening your bond, but this one won't work. [also, if you work with blood, you only need a drop. Get a diabetic lancer and prick your finger. Cutting your hand takes a long time to heal and could get infected]
Do not even dare to do that. No respectable witch or wiccan would do this to an animal. The caster can use their blood, but no witch or wiccan would ever use the blood of an animal unless it was collected in a humane way (ie. You found it outside), not to mention the fact that animal blood is not always the healthiest)
