The Pic above show the statue of Brighid, by an old well.Goddess Brighid (other name: Juno, Queen of Heaven, Brigit, Brigid, Brigindo, Bride.)- Is another cletic/Irish goddess. She is counted to be one of the triple goddess of the celtic pantheon. According to legend, she was born at sunrise and a tower of flame beamed from her forehead. So she was sometimes seen as a sun goddess. Depicted as a the goddes of bother fire and water, she was immortalized by many wells and springs. The was a famous shrine at Kaildare, the tenders to the shrine of Brighid were 19 virgins Going by the name Daughters of the Flame. They could not speak to men and men could not come near the shrine. St. Brighids day is celerbrated along with the pagan festival of Imbolc. When Christianity spread through out Europe, Brighid was so loved she was made into a saint. But the idea to keep up with the flame at her shrine, the church saw as pagan and had is put out. The flames history has it told that the flame had burned for over a 1000 years when the church had it extinguished. St. Brigid's church in Kaildare was built on a site sacred to Brigid. Where Her eternal flame had once been tended by 19 priestesses, 19 nuns took it in turn to each tend the flame for a day and a night. On the 20th day, the Goddess (or the saint) tended the flame herself, thought the flame was name into a statue and it was never burn. St. Brighid remains one of the most popular Irish saints today.
