A spell a freind told me about. It is supposed to bind the caster to the Goddess of magic herself. The caster would then have access to a fraction of her power and knowledge of spells.

First place the solid black cloth down. It needs to be large enough to draw a large circle on. Arrange the white candles around the circle in a pentagon with the point away from yourself. Then the other candles outside the pentagon in a triangle with the point toward yourself. Light all the candles to begin.

Then chant: Ipsa magia obligo animam meam
Intercessione Hecate et me ligari in aeternum
Concede mihi in sua potentia
Sicut eam dem anima mea

After chanting this three(3) times place a few drops of your blood inside the circle. Let the candles burn for a bit longer before extinguishing them

Think I’m gonna try it

It works

How does it work?

This won’t work, you can’t be bond to Hecate with a spell

I do not work with Hecate and only have a passing knowledge of Hellenic Paganism, but this does not work and you should not try it. Hellenic deities abhor human blood sacrifices. Many had animal sacrifices, but I do not recommend you purchase a sheep to murder in your back yard. There is a whole sacred process in raising the animal you need to consider as well as the ceremony in which you sacrifice the animal to the Gods. Hecate also insists on cleansing before approaching her, which this spell did not include. You need to cleanse your space and yourself and wear fresh, cleansed clothes when you enter circle. Not going through this process can result in Hecate ignoring you. As for the chant, she is a Greek Goddess. While deities can understand any language, if you are planning on dedicating yourself to her, Greek would be more respectful.

As for the concept of binding yourself to a deity, do not do this. You do not bind yourself to a deity, but can can dedicate yourself to a deity which is very serious. You can work with a deity, or call on a deity for a favour, without dedicating yourself. When you choose to dedicate yourself to a deity, you are devoting your life to honouring them. Forever. Think of nuns, monks and priests. You give up your previous life and live in honour of Them. You can live in the mundane world, but if your God says ''You need to do this for me'' well, you need to do that thing for them. No argument. No backing out. You have sworn an oath to uphold their wishes and honour them by living how they see fit. This does not mean Gods will boss you around, but if the deity you devoted yourself to does not like your job, your lover, your friends, your home. They will tell you to leave that which does not serve your highest good and whether you want to or not, you have to obey. If you refuse, trust me, they will make life very uncomfortable for you. Your partner will leave you, your job will get worse, your house will be destroyed, your friends will stab you in the back. Because you made a deal to honour them and live up to their standard. Think before you dedicate yourself to a God.
