god, goddess, necessary?

I have a lot to learn and I feel clueless but it seems most practitioners have the aid of a certain god, goddess, deity, guide etc they connect with during spells and divinity. But I have never felt the need for one, is this weird? Am I messing up? Idk, I’ve never felt a connection with any of the spirits I read up on so I just keep relying on my own energy. I always protect myself but I only feel anything with nature, the fae, and animals.

It's recommended, but not essential to have a deity.

There's absolutely no necessity in having or worshiping a deity. There are atheistic and agnostic practitioners even. It's entirely a matter of choice or belief/faith. I personally, only very rarely, evoke any sorts of deities even as a spirit worker. There's just no need for it in my works. If you find that it helps you, then go for it. If not, then leave well enough alone. Don't feel pressured into doing something that isn't necessary or interesting to you.

No need to have a god or goddess. I have one, and love it so much, but you don't have to have one. In fact, I never had one for a long time until I decided to do so. A god or goddess can help further your knowledge of magick, but in the end, it's your choice. Strained relationships usually end quickly and in agony.
