What are some of your favorite divinatory methods and why?
To start, my most favorite is energy reading/ mind's eye scrying. I focus on an individual and scary within the mind's eye. This has been my most interesting method from a reader's standpoint. It isn't great for self reading but is more geared toward others.
Second favorite is tarot. I don't like to read tarot often. Neither did my grandmother or her mother. But intuitive tarot reading is my second go to method.
Another favorite for more general life path readings are lots. I've previously written up my own lot associations based on the items used. I wrote a method utilizing colored sea glass.
Least favorite method for me has been tarot combined with a pendulum. It's too much information and my last experience frightened me. My first, only, and last experience.
My go-to method would be tarot, though I use it more for introspection and emotional circumstances than about predicting any sort of future.
I used to use a pendulum somewhat regularly, but after some events, I no longer received consistent answers. I'm also not always the biggest fan of yes-no kinds of answers, though it can help narrow down answers to broader questions. I liked a pendulum best for introspective work, and getting to my inner self more directly. I've since moved on more to working with internal Jungian archetypes for that, however, with visualization work.
I would eventually like to get into astrology, at least to be better familiar with tropes, associations, and qualities of the different signs and planets. It would be better to understand and apply these ideas in other fields which mention these various energies so much.
I studied or looked into astrology for over 10 years.
It took a lot of time to look into a lot of the jargon, but it gets easier after getting the hang of it.
I try to approach astrology in a more intuitive manner. When doing readings I would consider the meanings of the planets in relation to each other, their sign and house placement, whether or not they fall close to an angle within the chart. But that was only a part for me. The real craft for me was looking at the chart and feeling the planet's energies out. What were they trying to say about the situation/s?
Eventually I found Astrology lends so many more answers than " My sign is an earth sign I am grounded and practical" "My mercury conjuncts venus, I express myself through artwork and aesthetics".
There seems for me anyway a more intuitive way to read astrologically even knowing all the terms and in a way it's better to pursue what is beyond them.
I honestly didn't expect you to list my favorite one immediately. Minds eye scrying, or what I think they call 'The Eye of Horus'. It has captivated me since it featured on an episode or two of the old animated cartoon Gargoyles.
But if we are talking favorite to use personally, I would say divining through nature/landscapes.. For example, Divining images from tumbled rock lanscapes. It's the same concept as using a black mirror or crystal ball, except your will would use the various shapes and colors to blend a vision. I have developed a pretty solid method for this over the years..
Oh, lol. But if I were divining for a pressing matter, I would use Tarot. Its my favorite when it comes to handling business.
