Greetings all!
While I am not the biggest fan of curses and I am not planning on doing one anytime soon, I would still like to know what you're supposed to do after a curse in terms of cleansing.
Should you cleanse yourself? Should you perform a protection ritual? Should you never think of the curse again or should you absolutely think of the curse?
All answers are appreciated, Blessed Be.
In my workings, with baneful magick I just usually forget about the ritual after I end it. Cleansingyourself is another good method to use if you feel the need to do so.
I think a lot of people like to do a little cleansing afterward, yeah. Sweep the negative out of their homes, take a little ritual bath, burn some incense.
well curses are like any other spell, it's just the emotion you're charging. while many see curses as evil, they can be a god thing for some people [releasing anger and past pain] so i would think about what exactly the curse is for. that said, curses are believed to lower your vibrational energy, so you might feel low [bad mood, achie, tired] but not suffer any negative karmic retribution as many who follow the Threefold Law might warn.
as for what to do after casting, whatever feels right to you, a cleansing and protection is a good habit to get into not because you cast a curse, but because energy builds up in your home. depending on how much you do it can vary how often you need to cleanse/protect, some do it monthly, others every 6 months, personally i play it by ear, sometimes i go 4 months, others 6, it depends on the energy in the room.
so, if you regularly cleanse, protect, and wear a protection charm, the occasional curse shouldn't be a problem. you might consider reading the book Have You Been Hexed by Alexandra Chauran, it was a good read, spoke about ways to identify, cast and protect.
