It's probably just a random occurrence.
Do you have any reason to believe someone would want to curse you?
In all seriousness, you are more likely to curse yourself by believing you are.

If you found a chicken’s foot in your car, your home, or your purse, then someone is trying to curse you. Any animal parts appearing that are not brought by a cat signify it is time to protect yourself. These can be used as protection but I have a feeling no one was putting a protection spell on your home.

If you still have the feet, you can stick them in a shoebox and cover them in borax for a month or so, then you can convert them into protection if you want. The borax will dry them nicely, and if you mix in some salt and a chunk of obsidian or other stone it should ground out any energies already attached to them.

It'd be a cheeky little way to turn negative attempts into positive tools. Once dried, tie them with some red thread if you have it, and feel free to claim them as yours.

Of course if you are not a fan of that idea, simply pick up the feet (or any other 'leavings'), offer a small rite or prayer of forgiveness and release for the animal they came from, then drop them bodily into the trash. it is a simple gesture, but carries a strong symbolic weight as it is reflective of you doing the same thing to any 'attacking' energies attached to the items as you are literally and figuratively casting them away.

Thanks everyone! My roommate disposed of them. But I feel I need to do something to protect my home and dogs. I live in a really safe neighborhood with a cop as my direct neighbor. I haven't yet because I always felt safe. Silly me! Lol

On the mundane level, one of the most effective protections is a good quality camera. Either a webcam inside your house, or a decent quality outdoor camera (with active night vision if you can find it) and a recorder. Point it at any potential trouble spots and give it the occasional check.

Sometimes just seeing a camera on a residence is an effective deterrent for would-be troublemakers. And if it fails as a deterrent then you have a video to present to authorities. Just be sure of two things. good resolution, and minimum 15 frames per second recording. And when recording, it is -far- better to have a big hard drive than to use compression. Video does police no good at all if the face is a blurry pixel. Color is also a huge benefit for the same reason. Clothing is as important an identifier as a facial image. (I was a security officer for six years. I've seen how a low quality image proves to be almost worse than useless.)

On a more magical level, there are a few simple protections to help ground and/or repel negative energy and intent. I'm not sure what sort of a place you live in so I'll list as much as I can so you can use whatever works. (I am sure that others will be able to add to the available options as well ^_^)

-bury an iron nail at the four corners of your property (north south east west) about three to nine inches below the soil.
Face the nail points outward from the house. Five inch nails from the hardware store are dirt cheap.

- a line of salt across the foot of any entrances is useful in a pinch, though not that convenient in the long run. Salt tends to get tracked around and it requires maintenance.

- placing a dreamcatcher in the windows of your bedrooms helps by 'catching' nightmares and negative influences while you sleep. Adding bird-of-prey feathers magnifies the protection. IE; Eagle, raptor, or falcon. Owl would be especially good with the association of the night and seeing through darkness.

-if you have some familiarity with magic or energy working already, and you have a few quartz crystals lying around, you can charge them and program them with protection and positive energy, then put one above each door on the molding, and/or on the window sills in the sun.

- if you have a quartz cluster of any kind (clear, amethyst, citrine, rhutillated, whatever.) put it in the house's main room, in sunlight if you can. They naturally generate energy on a constant basis.

- if you have or can get a salt-rock lamp, those also naturally ground negative energy. Salt is also a purifier and by using the lamp you get the added benefit of it ionizing the air a bit as it heats.

-burning a smidgeon of incense in each room from time to time is also good for clearing the air. Just don't burn too much at a time or the smoke could get to be a little much. Sage, sweetgrass, and sandalwood are good old-fashioned staples.

-ringing certain bells are also often used during blessings or meditation as a means to build up positive energies. Tibetan tingsha's and singing bowls are popular, though can be a touch pricey depending on where you buy them from.
