what do you mean a 'personal gain'? you can gain a lot from this path, it really depends how much you put into it. what are you hoping to gain? magick can be defined many ways, so do you mean spell casting, or the natural energy?

I'm assuming you probably mean financial gain and yes you can use magick for that. There is probably a whole bunch of money spells around here somewhere.
