There are hundreds of thousands of spells in the world, no one can tell you which of these are fake and which ones are real.

I would suggest putting some time into researching reality vs fantasy and basics in terms of spell casting, this can help you identify which spells are real and which are fake for yourself, eventually you will be able to write your own spells.

If you're serious about learning how to do magic and with starting from the rock-bottom then you don't start out by casting spells, you start out by learning how and why magic works.

You see, there is no such thing as an "easy" spell or a "beginner" spell. One either understands how magic works and has mastered the basics...in which case the magic will work..or you haven't done that sort of work..and no spell will work no matter how "easy" it seems.

Casting a successful spell involves much more than finding some spell on the internet or in a book, saying some words, lighting a candle, waving a wand of any of that sort of thing. In order for magic to work you need to understand how and why it works in the first place. Grounding and centering, visualization, focus and intent, energy manipulation, etc are all necessary first steps to even begin to have a chance at a spell actually working...and more importantly to prevent a spell from back-firing on you.

So, my advice for anyone who is truly serious is to start by reading a few books and practicing the exercises those books will give you. Once you have mastered the basics you won't need anyone to give you spells, you'll be able to create your own spells that will be far more effective than anything you find on the net. Here's the books I suggest:

"Before You Cast a Spell" by Carl McColman

"Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar

"The Veil's Edge" by Willow Polson

"Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig

And the following links in this thread will also help you learn the basic skills necessary for effective spellwork.

The biggest thing is belief in magic first. If you have strong belief in the craft magic will work then let intuition and heart guide you after that. Also biggest thing keep your magic simple and direct as possible. Belief intuition and heart guides magic not over thinking good luck in your pursuit of the craft.

fake spells are any spells that claim to change your appearance, such as sex/gender change spells, eye color and hair color change spells, and so forth. These spells claim to be "glamories" which is a certain genre of spells that use to be used by witches to hide themselves and go unnoticed in crowds and avoid unwanted attraction. Though glamories can also help your self image and confidence/ help you give off a different energy.
Other fake spells are spells that claim to be able to turn you into a vampire, werewolf, mermaid, or any other fictional creature... These spells are considered "fluff" on this site. You have learned witches are real, but as you can see they aren't green with pointy noises and warts like hollywood would suggest... vampires and werewolves are also not real and you can not turn into one.

on the other hand, don't confuse dragon spells for being fake, as dragon magick is a real set of magick practices, but dragons are considered to be creatures of the astral realm and not tangible creatures of our world.

the best way to know what spells are real and what spells are fake is by learning what magick and spells are in reality and do your research. Witchcraft is not just about saying rhymes and burning candles, it is about interconnectness of the universe and how to use your spiritual and mental abilities to communicate with the natural energies of things to help you achieve your goals and become a greater being in this existence.

geese this again [note to self, save list somewhere, makes responding easier]

if you study 'the basics' of magick you could have a fair degree of knowledge as to which ones do and don't work. short answer: avoid the fantasy and trick spell sections of this site, 99% of the spells listed are fake.

magick is a natural, neutral, energy found in nature. it does not bring instant dramatic changes nor does it contradict nature [so any spell that claims you can be or do anything humans cannot like turn invisible or become another creature, it won't work] magick also only effects energy. [so any spell that claims you can levitate objects or control elements or something is again, a dud] spells that work are more akin to prayer, where you focus your intent, ask for your desired outcome, then work towards your goal. the spell will effect the energy around you and attract new opportunities to achieve your goal [or in the case of things like banishment and curses, repel the energies to decrease your interaction with said thing/person]

just remember if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, and to be careful what you wish for.
