Draining Energy

So I’ve been doing Oracle readings and I usually get emotional and pretty drained afterwards when I do them for other people, but when I do my own readings I don’t feel drained at all.

Can anyone provide me with some information about this?

Perhaps I’m using too much energy?

Well, a good rule is not to use your own energy. Pull energy from, things around yiu, ask all things with good will to help you do your readings. It would make sense to feel drained if your exerting all of your own energy specifically. Tap into the earth around you. The air. There is energy all around. Just use it.

c: Good luck!

Dravonia is correct. Using your own energy whether in doing a reading or in performing a magical act is not generally recommended as it can leave you feeling drained and even make you sick.

On the other hand, there is energy all around us from the earth below and the heavens above. It is possible to learn how to draw on this energy from all of Creation and use that to power your workings.

The first place to start is by learning to Ground and Center. This establishes the connection to the energies around you. I wrote a post on how to go about diong this at http://www.spellsofmagic.com/read_post.html?post=829288
