There are some excellent books out there on using the runes both for divination and for runic magic. Some titles I'd highly recommend include:

" Taking Up the Runes " by Diana Paxson

" Odin Ecstasy: Runes and Norse Magic : by Diana Paxson

"Futhark: A Handbook of Rune Magic " by Edred Thorsson

" Northern Magic " by Edred Thorsson

" The Nine Doors of Midgard " by Edred Thorsson

And a couple of passable websites to get you started:

There are a few historically accurate ways to utilize runes. They are a means of divination. They are a means to infuse power into an object by use of solitary or multiple (bind runes) symbols. Runes can also be used to construct spellwork that is placed on an object like a stone monolith that is intended for lasting use.

I am assuming that you wish to utilize runes to construct spellwork to speak your magick. Thus the term formula. There are a couple of ways to do that. You can construct a bindrune, simplicity is key here. Use a pair or a minimal amount until you understand what the combinations will produce. The second way is to construct a phrase or series of phrases in an ancient language using the runes to write or carve out your intention to an object, usually wood. That kind of requires matching the appropriate runes according to the appropriate dialect. Example would be the use the Elder runes with the proto-Germanic languages or the Younger with the Norse or Saxon language. Some words and terms in modern languages are impossible to construct in runes. Old German does not have the letter Y in its alphabet as an example.

A good way to learn to use runes in recorded or written form is to study photos of runestones. Once you can read and decipher them, you will be adept enough to be able to inscribe your own writings.

But wanted to ask if in doing so will this invoke all of the runes that are tattooed on myself? Also if thst is the case would it also be best to have them done in there reverse passion as to invoke the magic of the runes reverced aswell

I would advise against tattooing runes on your body until you are familiar with each one and it's meaning.
