This all i could find from my search

"The Egyptians and the Greeks considered lizards as symbolic of good fortune and intelligence. The Egyptian hieroglyphics also uses lizard to convey 'many' or 'plentiful.' There is a general tradition about gecko, spelt ?gecko? in Latin, which means fortune, re-growth and overall life"

Sorry, but it's for you to figure out, part of the whole "guide" thing. You're perceiving them for a reason. It may not make sense for years to come.

I found a couple of meanings for Gecko as a Spirit Animal. See which resonates with you:

Gecko:

Shows how to be out-going with tact and how to cope and overcome obstacles, he will show how to let go of old outdated perceptions to make room for the new. Gecko can teach how to maneuver in this transition phase of mental, spiritual and emotional death and rebirth. He will show how to emerge successfully in this spectacular change within your Self. When Gecko appears it is also a time to pay attention to dreams and visions for he will show how to shift and molt perspectives. Are you holding too tightly to current perceptions and ideas? Are you balancing your emotion and mind? Gecko can show how there is regeneration in life's endeavors by listening to this inner guidance so one can find balance in this transition time . http://www.starstuffs.com/animal_totems/dictionary_of_reptiles.html

Gecko:

Having the ability to see through the transparency of life and get to the core of a situation (they have a transparent membrane over their eyes instead of an eyelid), naturally intuitive, seeing things from different angles, blending into the background and moving through life unseen, sticking with people and ideas, pay attention to where you arewalking and don't get stuck goingdown the wrong path. A cute little creature, but one that has managed to achieve great things. Geckos can originate from one country and within the space of 10 years be found in many other locations around the world suggesting the work of a quiet achiever. It also has the feel of networking; sending out your eyes and your ears to gather in information. The Gecko can move on and up any smooth surface with ease. It could represent the ability to tackle any problem with ease. The gecko female is parthenogenic meaning that it can reproduce without a male so it could also represent versatility and the ability to work alone without need of assistance from others. http://spiritwalkministry.com/spirit_guides/reptile_animal_spirits

And yet a couple more sites with other information
