I've been looking around the internet and nothing pops up about how to plant mushroom rings so I wanted to make one for the fae as a gift and sign that they are welcome in my house but so far nothing anyone got any ideas how to make one

You cannot plant mushrooms. Fungi grow from spores. Mushrooms are the method the fungus uses to spread more spores, but the rest of the fungus is typically obscured from view.

The fairy ring is a ring of mushrooms because the mushrooms more often than not grow at the outskirts of the fungus, and a fungus typically grows from its point of origin outward -- that is, roughly in an expanding circle.

Perhaps I should clarify: You can plant mushrooms, just not in the same way you do a seed. There are grow kits and sources for spores online. But there is more to it than digging a small hole and adding a bit of spore then covering with dirt.

Most of the grow kits are for culinary purposes. And if you do choose to grow mushrooms, I'd advise to use either edible mushrooms in a garden setting, or to plant species native to your area.

It is possible to grow Amanita muscarias outdoors, as long as you are in the right growing zone and have the right host trees.

Being that they require certain types of trees means they will not grow in a fairy ring, mind you. They will grow along the tree or its roots.
