okay so i just started out on this website tonight, and i need to know what are the typical things i should have for spell casting? certain herbs and things?

First you need to know what magick is, how it works, and what it can and cannot do. You should also learn about energy work [charging, centering, grounding, psi balls] visualization and meditation. Go to the main forums, there is a category called General Information, in there is some pinned articles read the beginners information by AwakeTooLong.

But, to answer what's needed is nothing, spells are just you focusing energy. The items used can aid the spell because they have energy similar to what you want [like using apples in a love spell] but the majority comes from the caster.
