Midnight

This may be an ignorant question, but I have been wondering this for months and I cannot figure out an answer after tons of research.

Many things affect spells, such as the days of the week. The days of the week can be more meaningful to certain spells.

We all know midnight is the "witchy hour," and it is (usually) best to do cast a spell or preform a ritual at this time.

For me, when planning to preform a ritual or cast a spell, I consider all of these things. But I have run into some trouble.

I always think of midnight as, well, night. (Yes, I know it is a transition to a new day.)

To put it into perspective, let's say I had planned to cast a spell on Wednesday at midnight. Well, midnight is the transition, so would I do it at 12am on Wednesday or at 12am on Thursday, since the midnight (in the way I see it) would be at the normal cycle of night.

Thanks in advance :)

Nothing on your profile,Kamille, but let's see if we can sort this out.
You are thinking of midnight as the time of the clock. This is not strictly true! For instance, when the clock reads midnight in London, it is only 2355 in Cardiff!
What you should really do is count the hours of darkness at the "time" of the year; it's different in Summer than Winter. So, if the hours of darkness are ,say,8 hours; then, after four hours it is midnight! So, you see, it depends on the "time" of the year, and your "location", when midnight actually is. Count the hours; not what it says on the clock!

Your question is not ignorant Kamille352 it is a very good question.

Yes what Brysing said about the midnight hour is true and you can take that to the bank.

Brysing I always enjoy reading your stuff. They ought to put a like and dislike button so we can click like or dislike on the answers given. :)

Chris

P.S I'd click like of course.

Oh,dear! Ha,ha,ha!
It's a matter of "time zones". The east of a zone can be half an hour before the west of the zone! But the "clock time" would be the same!

Knowledge becomes sweet when mixed with the spiritual like adding sugar to the Cheerios cereal.
