I hear you! Back in the 60's it was difficult finding elders that had "our sort" of interests.

It has always been difficult for elders to understand the interests of the young.
Until World War 2 I had never seen an aeroplane (except in the movies). When my parents were young, they didn't even exist!
As years go by, technology moves faster and faster.
Computers? In history terms they are newer than this morning's breakfast!

2000? i was 11 years old, we got the internet [as well as our first actual computer] in 1999 [what an age we lived in!] i remember msn messenger, and aol, and napster, and that horrible dial up noise! anyone remember Y2K? i found it a huge joke, i'll probably never forget sitting on my dads knee watching the news and they were interviewing someone who was stocking up for Y2K, he had a bomb shelter full of Kraft Dinner, a bunch of water, and to cook it, a hot plate, and at age 11 i remember yelling at the tv because that hotplate would be useless.

it is odd talking to new members who are 15 or so and then realizing they didn't experience the 90's and its just mind boggling for me. the older i get, the more the Abe Simpson quote becomes less funny and more true "I use to be 'with it' until they changed what 'it' was. Now what I'm 'with' isn't 'it' and what is 'it' is weird and scary to me. It'll happen to you." because i was so cool in 1997, but today not so much. [but on the upside popularity doesn't matter to me. now back to watching Daria]

Memory, memory! How it plays tricks when you get to my age!
I can remember my childhood as though it was yesterday.
The problem I have is that I find it difficult to remember yesterday!
