I hear this full moon is special, that it is a blue moon. I think because it is the extra moon in this season. I was just wondering if this is magickally or spiritually different then the normal full moon. Also what do you guys do during a full moon, if you don't mind sharing. c:
I don't do any workings on a particular moon phase as I don't really follow the lunar cycles in my works. I personally don't feel any benefits in working in sequence with the moon. However many people do, and feel it benefits their spells and rituals.
Some people think a blue moon has more significance and others tend to just say it's just another moon in the month.

There are certain beliefs that state that a blue moon is threefold more powerful than the full moon, although I don't follow that belief personally, as the moon is a full moon in its own time, and the only time it becomes a "blue moon" is when it is the second full moon of a calendar month. Humans made the calendar, without magical or divine inspiration, thus the only time (in my opinion) that anything has extra power on any particular day is when that day coincides with a sabbat, estbat, or the like. Our calendar doesn't hold power over the moon, sun, earth, or anything like that, and thus can't give power unto those days.
I understand that not everyone believes in this way, and that is perfectly fine. A blue moon can help someone accomplish something they normally wouldn't be able to due to the strong belief that comes with working magic on a blue moon, but the moon itself, in my opinion is indifferent as to what day of the year, month, or week it shows up on. It has been there long before we had a calendar of any sort, let alone the Gregorian calendar we use today.
Firstly it happens usually only every 2-3 years. It rarely happens often so thisn is usually depicted as ''special'' which, personally it is.
Like yesturday and today for example. It falling on a sabbat. Many people would and are excited of this due to the ''extra power''. While the above post was right i tend to view and realize this is like an inside joke or party almost. Excitement since the beginning of myths, holidays and religion itself.
