It really depends on what you want to learn, though in general, awareness of the subtle energy around you can be helpful if you want to actively practice energy work.

I wouldn't start with experimenting spells and rituals and then basing your progress on their success rates. This is a common mistake that I see many new folk make and it can build mental blocks and make them think they are less capable than they really are.

yeah i've completely done that. then i wonder why aren't my spells working? i thought about giving up.

Even legitimate spells do not work 100% all of the time and you have to factor in some thoughts.

• Time - don't be too strict (Wed. at 7:08 PM) or too vague (in the next year)
• Reasonable occurance - even without the spell, the intent should be reasonable enough to manifest (celebrities won't come to meet you through spells).
• X factor - we cannot isolate subtle energy, so there will always be variables.
• Other influences - "You are but on drop in the ocean" is a favored quote.
• Technique - some will click while others may be harder to learn & develop.

There are plenty of other factors, but those are a beginning list of things to think about.

Gaining awareness of subtle energy is simply realizing that there is "more" to what we physically sense. Often times, you'll already be aware of it without realizing you are.

Have you ever had a sensation of pure wonder, pure existing in the moment, or having a sensation of something that was not physically there to sense? It is like that.

I would highly work on meditation and energy work, especially working on the 3rd eye. Just that allow opens up a world of wonder. Maybe even some past life progression, I love past life progression because it allows us a sense of ourselves more. Not many people I know like past life progression simply because it's being in the left channel of our bodies, when most people aim for the center. Anyway I'm rambling and probably making zero sense.

I guess I'm saying find yourself first and the rest will come very naturally.
