You write of starting your path of witchcraft; and then go on to discuss various religious beliefs; none of them witchcraft!
Witchcraft isn't a religion, or a religious "path". Therefore you may follow any religion and still practice witchcraft. Or, like me,you may practice witchcraft without any religion at all!
Not sure why my post inspired hostility. I know the difference between witchcraft and religion, but the truth is that that there ARE mystical traditions in each religion and they have been a part of spellwork for centuries. In fact, some spellwork absolutely is a religious petition, such as rituals to the Orisha in the various vodou/santeria West African religions.

No one was trying to be hostile, so there's no need to become defensive. I think the point someone else was trying to make is that magic and witchcraft are not synonymous. While some magic may be tied to religion, that doesn't make it witchcraft, which is generally separate from religion.
Nice to see someone interested in Hinduism. Although I agree with Brysing that Witchcraft is not a religion. For me, it's Spirituality. But still I worship Hindu as well as wiccan deities. I'm a solitary eclectic witch born in a Hindu Family.In Hinduism, there are mostly chants in Sanskrit and we light lamps with mustard oil or ghee and sometimes incense too.No candles are used though but still chants or mantras are like the spells.
In Hinduism there are lakhs of Gods and Goddesses. For example Goddess Lakshmi ( Goddess of wealth) ,Goddess Saraswati, ( Goddess of music and education),Lord Shiva ( The creator) ,Lord Indra (King of Heaven) and so on. Generally Fruits and sweets are used as offerings to them. There are countless number of mantras you'll find in Vedas each for a certain purpose and there's always a specific method to perform those rituals and you need to purify yourself before performing them. There's also a lot of fasting in Hinduism like at full moon.
For example if I've to perform a ritual for prosperity and my Patron is Lord Shiva, I'll do fasting for seven Mondays and in that period I'll only eat vegetarian food. I'll have to keep only positive thoughts.I need to learn the whole chant and know it's meaning before using it. After that, only last Monday I'll have to Light up a ghee lamp in front of statue of Lord Shiva and then chant Shiva Tandava Stotram till I feel it's enough for the ritual.
It's not necessary for you to be Hindu to perform such rituals.All you need is purity and belief in your heart regarding such religion. Like being a Hindu my patrons are Goddess Hecate, Lord Indra,Lord Shiva, Lord Zeus.
And Yes, there are enchanted Yantras or talismans too. They're blessed by the deities and are really powerful but nowadays it's really hard to find the real Yantras.

Did you ever get more info on this? I am Hindu but ive been quite interested in witchcraft myself, just wondering if over the years you've gained more clarity.
Can you worship both hindu gods and also perform witchcraft? or can you perform witchcraft keeping hindu gods in mind?
