A friend of mine went to the Channel Islands and found and pile of rocks to hold down the tent becaus it was windy.he found a pile of rocks in a pile but it wasn't just a pile, they were stacked in the shape of a little pyramid. When he lifted the very last rock...this gave me chills.....he found tiny little broomsticks underneath it and he picked them up and realized that yes they are broom sticks wrapped with string. He got freaked out and realized he Messed with something he was not suposd to. He couldn't sleep the whole night he said he heard voices and screams. I tried to look this up to find something on this but I found nothing. Does anyone have an explanation for this??

It's a "charm cairn". You shouldn't really have disturbed it, but it would not harm you in any way; apart from your imagination! Many of the "old school" made such cairns to "charm away a problem". I think broomsticks would indicate a domestic problem. Other cairns might be to cure warts, or other illnesses. Girls used to build such cairns over a lock of their hair, to "attract a lover". What you really should have done was to replace the rocks as you found them.
