Try this if you don't have graveyard dirt you may can take dirt some some area where someone was buried, I once took from my house backyard where my cat was buried after her death, it will work too, still be cautious and prefer the graveyard soil!

I have seen variations of goofer dust without graveyard dirt. Though given its use, I assume it is a necessity. You could substitute soil where something died horribly. The main reason for it, is death energy/essence and or to petition the spirit of the being that died to help with your work. Does not need to be from a cemetary

Graveyard dirt is essential! Also there are other ingredients, black salt, ground sulfur, and others. With optional ingredients such as ground insects, powdered bones, etc. So yes it is essential to have graveyard dirt otherwise it's not a complete hoodoo trick.

I'd recommend not using or trying to make Goofer dust if you don't know much about it, as the effects from making it "incorrectly" could be undesired. Graveyard dirt is an essential ingredient not just to Goofer dust, but to many other powders when it comes to Hoodoo. Of course, as said above, you could use the dirt where something was buried but the term is "graveyard" dirt, this has to come from the Cemetary.

can I ask what you intend to do with the ingredients. I wouldn't go taking dirt from a graveyard because it may bring bad luck

I didn't know goofer dust was real, I thought it was just something off the supernatural series. If it is real, its really cool! Although, I find salt works just as well.
