I agree with some of the other comments to your question. You are online here at SOM and I noticed that your information in the profile shows that you are from Scotland. Many people here are from different country's. It will be difficult to get a face to face.
I am new here and a sole practitioner. And follow a certain light path. I think from what I have learned much of the base learning may be best sought out through books. Reading up on the elements and other base material like herbs and crystal will give you an ability to find yourself, your own tools, altar setting and practice, not someone else's beliefs. Then you will be able to incorporate your own personality into your practice.
SOM has a store with books in it. You can have them mailed right to your home. Then after that you may wish to one to learn from.
Your best bet for learning on site is to take part in a coven. Post any questions you have, read through the forums and try to actively engage those in your coven in a chat about magic, or listen when they are discussing a topic.
There are a plethora of books and pdf's you can get online. I highly suggest the works of Scott Cunningham.
Be careful to double and triple check any information you read, from various sources. Not all books nor people are factual, especially in regards to magic.
I agree with _Ere, some people on this site often show their skype username/account on their profile so.... you can ask them to respond to you contacting them and ask for magickal help from them and what have you.
Beware: A lot of people on this site are unreliable and some who post themselves as "Masters" of the dark arts or something similar are often Fluffers who will waste your time.
