What Grows Well in North TX?
By:
I'm starting a raised garden soon, with both vegetables and herbs in it. I live in North Texas, and I'll need to plant something that can withstand the weather. What grows well here? It's my first time planting a garden, so any other tips would be nice as well.

Aloe vera grows really well with little water, low maintenance. Good a for burn.
Depending on how much you water your garden, possibly rosemary if it gets partial shade and water every now and again.

Talk to the nice folks at your County Extension Office. They can give you great advice on what sorts of plants will grow best where you are located. In Texas you can find them listed by County at http://counties.agrilife.org/

Thanks! I'll be sure to check that out. I've got a potted Aloe Vera plant already, and it's definitely a useful and hardy little plant, so I'll probably plant more. Same thing with the Rosemary :)
