Try grounding. To ground, simply close your eyes, and imagine your ki (chi) rooting into the ground. Next, hold your hands, like how you hold a basketball, and visualize a ball of your ki. Slowly move your hands in and out, feeling the ki ball. To expand it, slowly move your hands away from each other and imagine ki ball getting bigger. Once you decide to let it go, simply release it like how you release a bird back to the wild. To minimize it, slowly move your hands together and imagine it getting smaller, until, it's gone! Once, finished, you have successfully learned how to use your ki!
(Somewhat like that, I don't remember where I found the one I typed, it's been 2-3 months since I last saw it.)
