Empty force

Ling Kong Jing, the "Empty Force," is the highest martial arts skill in China. This extraordinary technique harnesses the power of chi, the body's vital energy, enabling masters of the art to defend themselves against opponents without making physical contact. The book takes readers step by step from theory to the actual practice used to generate Empty Force, and shows how to use its remarkable power for healing as well as self-defense.

I have this book as well as other resources about energy development. and the key thing about this all has seemed to rely on the question of the Hara or dan tien located 2 1/2 inches below the navel and 21/2 inches inward, and the solar plexus or tan tien which is located at the bottom of the center of the chest roughly. It has been taught that through certain exercises both breathing and stances you learn to center the energy from tan tien to the dan tien and truly open the meridians, which are the paths in the body the energy travels.

What you are speaking of is a form of qigong. Yes it is very real and has been practiced for thousands of years. Qigong is also practiced by doctors in China and used on tumors, among other things, that are otherwise inoperable. I have been practicing qigong for several years now and while I am by no means a master, I have seen wonderful results with it.
