Logos doesn't simply mean *word* in ancient greek, logos can be a speach, but the main diffence is with *nomos* which means *law* or a kind of ordinate logos.
What you refer to your deity it's up to you and your relation with them, or if you're in a tradition that would have the name of gods revealed after an initiation or if you're lucky to have such a close relationship with gods so they wish to reveal to you their names.
This is the beginning of a Gospel (sorry I don't remember which, John I suppose, but I'm not sure) as I remeber I translated a few years ago for studying purpose from ancient greek
"In the beginnig there was the logos and the logos was in the beginning, and the logos was in god"
This complicates matters a bit, doesn't it? =)
