I'm a new magick user (although I haven't attempted any spells yet, I want a proper and thorough education first)=] and I was just wondering if anybody would help explain to me the differences between black and white magick. Is all black magick dangerous? Can a wiccan safely [cont]
Practice both types? Can you tell the difference of type just by looking at the spell? If you can, how? Do fire spells count as black magick? Thank you to anyone who took the time to read and reply to this post =]
People think there is a white and black magick. But its just the heart of the one casting it. You could cast spells of death to your enemies but you can also cast spells of healing to your friends. Its only spells that you decide. Everyone has a dark nature and a light one. It depends on which one you want to use more. And no fire isnt a black magick spell. its actually an Elemental Spell.
Although black and white magick don't exist offically I divide them into those categories. To me white magick is anything that doesnt bring harm to other and black magick is the opposite. Any spell that harms another has nothing to do with wicca. "An do as ye will, harm none" is exaclty why 'black magick' is not wiccan.
But thats just the thing. You can harm people by using white magick too. Its not all about healing like osme people think. White magick is the perfect defensive magick. Protection spells can hurt other people unintentionally, well it depends on that kind of protection spell. Also I know someone who got a kid hurt because he let the kid see the light aka the error of his ways. And the kid went into depression and tried to kill himself. So any type of magick is harmful.
Ill agree with trav. There is no ultimate light or dark everything has both. Although you will find nothing but books and information on magic by category of type or color. Magic is for the selfish and self righteous. No matter what you claim to be or follow, so use the "good" with the "bad" the black with the white other wise your just a hypocrite and stunting your growth because of your own ignorant ego.
