I've been a practicing Wiccan for some 30 years. During that time I shared my beliefs with very few people outside of my own family and coven. Truth be told, what you believe and what your religion is are very personal and private beliefs. It isn't necessary that anyone other than yourself know about them. If someone asks about my beliefs I simply tell them that my beliefs are intensely personal to me and I prefer not to discuss them with others. I've never had anyone take issue with that stance.
As to talking with the Goddess, one doesn't need to do that in any sort of way that will draw negative attention to yourself. She hears even our silent prayers and words. Stand under a Full Moon and simply let your thoughts flow. Or lie in your bed before you go to sleep and thank her for your day, ask for her aid, and give her your blessings. She is there just as certainly (and maybe moreso) than in the middle of the most elaborate ritual.
