From experience, the best methods of water scrying are black bowls or candle wax.
For the black bowl method, you get a black bowl, fill it about halfways with water (to avoid spilling) and stare at it in a dark room with only one light, a candle. Quick, cheap and easy.
The candle wax method is similar, except it doesn't have to be a black bowl, you use the candle to drop wax into the water, for this you ask a question? Ex:
Will it be sunny tomorrow?
And the wax might resemble a Sun, a cloud.
The downfall of this method is when you ask a question, you may not be able to read the answer.
