They could be signs. But then you must also remember that this man is on your mind a lot. When something is on your mind like this, things that might have otherwise slipped by unnoticed suddenly receive attention - like seeing the number 11 (it's everywhere anyway), and people using his name or his location - also likely pretty commonplace. As far as randomly going to his photo, your subconscious likely steers you there as well. Unless you've got a button that actually randomizes what your picture is, anyway. In which case, because you are so focused on him, you notice those more than the others - much like with the other things you are noticing.
But then one never knows. They could be signs. But if they are signs, what are they signs of? What are they trying to say? Why are they so vague? And why could they so easily be coincidence?
The bottom line is that when you are trying to interpret such things as omens, it is typically more a combination of your conscious wishes and fears steering your thoughts as well as your subconscious influencing how you interpret those events you observe.
The only thing you can really do with it is trust your instincts, apply common sense, and otherwise shrug them off without reading too much into anything. If we worried about every omen and sign, none of us would ever get anything worth doing done.
