While I appreciate tombstone's perspective, I would like to point out that the Bible does have powerful women in it. And that the verse saying "suffer not a witch to live" actually translates to mean "let not a soothsayer to live". In those days, soothsayers would call on gods other than Yahweh to tell the future. The verse was written as a way to say "Do not use gods other than me to help you." Its amazing the things you learn in seminary.

It is true that most of Christianity is based on magic, since I was raised under Christianity and always believed in magic I knew the similarities in this, In my opinion magic is used in the church, pastor, etc... Believe what you want to believe this is just my opinion and hope Id help.
