The stone red jasper is suppose to help with anxiety. I have one that I use during meditation for my anxiety and it helps a lot. If you cleanse and charge the stone when you get it, and keep it with you it should help ease the tension. I hope we have helped.

Lavender is also a wonderful herb for anxiety. It can be used as a tea or in the essential oil form.

You can apply it to the neck, wrists, behind the ears, etc. If you need too, the oil can be diluted with olive oil so that it doesn't irritate the skin.

Lavender tea can be made by placing a few tablespoons of the dried (or fresh depending on what you can find) flowers into a cup of boiling water. When the tea has finished steeping, strain it and add honey or sugar for added sweetness. This tea can be used to treat headaches, stress, anxiety, etc.

I use a lot of it for my daughter when she isn't feeling well. It helps soothe her. It also works really well in dream pillows to help with sleep.

You could also try tai chi and meditation. That way you'd try to solve the problem instead of just treating the symptoms.

ESK has hit the nail right on the head with meditation. I see you are seeking professional help and I'm sure they have suggested many things like CBT. While meditation may to sound as instant as a spell or such it is the first step. I know the symptoms can be crippling but this is one case where the more subtle the approach the better the result.

I would suggest a meditation that involves a focus on movement or on a task as it can be hard to do other types with anxiety, again as ESK has said tai chi is great for this if you don't want to go to a class for it you can start at home with some good online guides.

Yoga is also really great for relieving and managing anxiety. Whenever I feel an attack coming on, I just drop it down into some soothing, heart/chest opening poses since that's where I carry most of my physical stress. Lengthening poses like downward dog and cobra also help immensely with providing anxiety relief. Getting into a morning habit has aided in managing my GAD incredibly well, and also gets me nice and limber for work.
