First what is the difference between a Faery and a fairy. How could you summon one?

Spelling, there are quite a few different spellings of the word but they essentially refer to the same type of spirit. I would note that not all people believe in fae although many do and work with them regularly.

I can't say how to summon one as such beyond any ritual to call a spirit however a good way to attract them is through offerings of food left out at night. In Irish folklore the faeries reside in the Otherworld under the ground which can be accessed through sidhe mounds so a way that I've used before is burying food under a small pile of earth to attract them.

Murfie is well said,

In my short experience I have noticed fae used more by the occultist, and fairy by the non-practitioners, also in my experience I have noticed the plural of fae spelled faes but I assume this is another spelling.

Also although never researched them I can say that they are spirits, and to be respected also summoning is rude, in many morals

One can summon a particular deity or person by prayer or by ritual. There are many prayers out there for summoning faeys/fairies such as this one: http://www.ladyoftheearth.com/faeries/faerie-prayer.txt

I bet there are some rituals for summoning them too.

Just as the Christian use prayer to summon their God, one can use prayer in the craft to summon our own deities too. One does not have to do spell, ritual, etc. It's really up to you!

Well first, there is a difference between summoning and evocation. When your evoking something, you are essentially sending out a message that you would like a visit from that particular deity/spirit/entity.

A summoning is more brash. It involves dragging a spirit/entity to you against their will. This is generally done for spirits/entities that torment humans and will not approach them otherwise (Used for banishments).

An evocation is what you are looking for. A faery won't be too pleased if s/he is dragged out from where s/he lives. If it's an invite, they will be more calm, collected, and more willing to work with you.

From what the Fae I have met have said, Faery applys to court Fae and fairy applys to the small folk and occasionaly the peoples that the court or ruler is over. It is also said in some places that Fary is what the very powerful Dark Fae are called. I hope I have been of some help!

You cannot summon a Fae person but you can befriend them enough that they may show themselves to you. Plus if summoning is acctualy possible( very doubtfully so),many consider it acctualy cruel.and you can get in huge trouble with the Ruler Faeries for it. If you did it ( it is considered Highly disrespectful) you could be punished badly by the Fae.
