A Buddhist Fairy

Hello all!
It's my first time on this forum and have loved what I've read already. I was very interested in new age practices, fairies (elemental beings), wicca when I was younger. I follow a Buddhist path now with a very powerful and extremely compassionate teacher (I have to say that I think his level of kindness and capacity to love endlessly is the real miracle - for how many of us can really do that) so have been learning about the presence of "magic" within the Buddhist practices, which tap into the energies of enlightened beings (Buddhas) and also harness our own potentials for healing, peace, protection. I hope I'll be able to lend some new perspectives to this forum. I'm not saying that the methods I have learnt are better nor am I ever saying that this is the only way that should be followed. Just offering some other perspectives :) Thought it might be interesting to see how this very old religion and its practices might correlate with the topics you are discussing here. After all Tibetan Buddhism, arose out of a culture that was famed for its "Bon" practices, which were very magickal (Bon is still practiced in Tibet today I believe).

Anyway, here's to many wonderful discussion. I look forward to meeting all of you here!

I have always respected and admired and also envied Buddhists for their compassion, humility, and honesty; I have yet to see one who is "bad." I remember the Dalai Lama's quote, "If scientific analysis were conclusively to demonstrate certain claims in Buddhism to be false, then we must accept the findings of science and abandon those claims," which just shows his deep humility. It's great to see someone who can give us a different perspective on the world :D. I would love to hear more about your beliefs!
