I thought I would point out that scientist do have a way to insert a gene into dna. It is to experimental to use on humans and it would effectivly only work on a fetis at this point, but it is possible. It requires getting a gene plasmid and coating it in a gold layer. they would then shoot this into a cell and hope the plasmid takes effect. as for this whole discussion, I must agree with olden. There are ways this is possible that will work (other than body alteration/gender change, If its to change the local laws in that area that would be diffirent. for example in pregnancy you could increase the liklyhood of intercourse to take place, or increase the potency of the semon( when I say this I mean the chance these semon reach the egg and manage to fertilize the egg). As for weight gain it is possible to influence someones metabolism. While this is not instant weight gain or loss, few spells work in an instantaneous nature. its just a matter of perspective as some would argue that my solutions are not really weight gain or pregnacy spells. I must also as When has magick been limited by what science can accomplish. Also for all we know there could be a way to achieve these efects and that way is unknown to us at this time. Like man saying man cant fly. if we believed this we would not have plains today. so we don't really know what is possible right now, and likley will never know everything that is possible.

Kurost do not compare technology with magick. What we can to with magick is no where close to what we can do with our physical creations. Think of magick as a tool to help situations go in your favor, but not to do things like changing your body and flying through the air. Leave that stuff to our scientists and engineers.
