Dream catchers?
By:
I don't have feathers at my disposal but I was wondering if I could make a feather-less dream catcher. I have seen some on Google Images. It's the intent you put in it that's the most important, right?
Also, how do they work? Is there something I should do for them to work better, and where should I use it?

I don't see why you can't make one without feathers,if you've seen pictures of ones without feathers, then there are featherless dreancatchers.

Sure, you can make a simple dream catcher with a hoop of some sort and any kind of string material you see fit.

Okay, great. I made one with a plastic plate, put some holes in it, and used some strings to make a star for the dream catcher bead.
I painted the plate beforehand and hung a couple of shiny strings on it with some beads. It looks good enough, and hopefully it'll work.

I think the intent is the most important thing. It should work fine. And it's not like you can't add feathers or other decorations later if you feel like it.

Like said in above comments, no, you do not need feathers. Something you really do need though is some kind of netting in the dream catcher's circle. For example, string or wire. The original native american legend really only included the web and possibly tribal colors or beads.

The white feathers are meant to sweep evil spirits away.

You can get feathers at a craft store, like Michaels or Joann Fabrics. They don't have to be real.

Intent is very important, but you also need to make sure you leave a hole in the center for the good dreams to be able to go thru.
